Questions and Answers during the webinar

QUESTIONSANSWERS
1Can you send YouTube Link? I didn't know you were YouTube streaming?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6112FgLyROY
2Is there a free trial version available?
There is a free version that you can trial on the iOS platform. There is no free trial version on Android or Windows.
3Will Nebo introduce highlighter and fountain pen, dotted, dashed line other note-taking tools
Indeed, we are currently looking at various options to increase the availability of pen types in Nebo.
4I wish that if math equations could be written freely instead of in a predefined box-like Microsoft OneNote.
Hi, our research and development team feel the same as you! They are working hard to develop inline math recognition and we are looking forward to delivering this update for a future version of Nebo but this feature is not at the top of our development timetable
5When will PDF import be available?
Hello, this is a top priority for the development team. We are aiming to deliver this in the coming months. At best we hope to have this ready by the end of this year, or early next year at the latest. [PDF has been added to Nebo since this question was asked].
6Is it possible to add math equations in a freeform page?
Hi! Actually, you can write your equations directly in a freeform page and copy them as a math object to paste and convert them in the regular page.
7It would be great to sync automatically
We agree with you: Our teams are developing smart solutions to make syncing across OS and devices work automatically! This may take a little time as auto-sync poses a number of challenges that we will need to overcome.
8When will the ability to paste images directly to Nebo in the Android version come?
Hi there. Nebo for Android currently supports the import and pasting of images.
9I use Nebo on iPad. Can I win it for android?
Yes, you can participate in the contest during the webinar and be one of the 10 users who will get a Nebo license today.
10Is it possible to synchronize Nebo on iPad and Windows so while writing on iPad you see this on the computer screen?
At present Nebo requires a manual sync. This will allow you to create notes on your iPad and then after syncing on your iOS device and then on the Windows device you will be able to see your notes across the two platforms.
11When will the ability to open two Nebo instances simultaneously in Android and Windows come?
Hi, we listen carefully to our users’ feedback and we will pass this request on to our product management team for consideration in future developments.
12Is Nebo Pro a different app? I bought Nebo for Samsung, and now I need to pay more if I want to use Nebo Pro?
On Google Play you can directly buy Nebo Pro. When you purchase Nebo for the Android or Windows platforms you will automatically be purchasing Nebo Pro.
13My smartphone has Android v9, but on Google Play Store it says my device is not compatible? So wasn't able to download :-(
Nebo requires an active pen to handwrite. You will not be able to benefit from the full range of features and settings on your smartphone because you cannot create notes using a stylus. You will be able to edit your notes using the keyboard and see notes that you created on a device with an active pen. You can contact the Nebo support team here: https://app-support.myscript.com/ and we’ll help you to activate Nebo on your smartphone. Thanks. [This has now been updated since this question was asked and is now possible].
14I can't erase my handwriting with my Apple pen anymore.
Please check that your pencil is properly paired with your device and that you are running the latest version of Nebo available in the App store. If you need further assistance with this, please contact the Nebo support team via the following link: https://app-support.myscript.com/
15Is it free on Android?
No, it is not free, Nebo Pro requires a one-time purchase.
16When will the ability to import more than one .nebo file at a time come?
This is not something that is currently on our development timetable, but we will pass this over to the planning team for consideration in future developments.
17Does it convert Chinese characters into Pinyin?
Pinyin conversion is not possible in Nebo at the moment.
18Will there be auto-sync instead of manual in Android and ChromeOS?
Our teams are developing smart solutions to make syncing across OS and devices work automatically! This may take a little time as our technology is complex and auto-sync poses a number of challenges that we will need to overcome.
19Can I teach the program to recognize and convert symbols that I use?
This is not possible at present, but we would like to add common note-taking symbols. Nebo is gradually moving towards making emojis available to users. We recently added the warning sign to the recognized symbols list in Nebo.
20How to move a page into a different notebook?
Please refer to this article in the Nebo knowledge base. It mentions how you can move a page to a different notebook in Nebo.  https://bit.ly/NKB-MovePages
21Can you edit the recognized math? Maybe edit the LaTeX code for the recognized math directly?
Yes, you can edit recognized math (just handwrite on top of the recognized symbols, the erase gesture works too).
22When you started the new page, I noticed you had a choice between the new page and a new freeform page (?)  What is the difference?
The “new page” is a standard note-taking page that you have already been using in Nebo. The “freeform page” is an ideas-canvas on which to write down your content without any formatting requirements. When you’re ready to turn your ideas into something more suitable for sharing with others you can then move these across to a standard page.
23How about symbols?
This is not something that is possible at present, but we would like to add common note-taking symbols. Nebo is gradually moving towards making emojis available to users. We recently added the warning sign to the recognized symbols list in Nebo.
24I want to draw on Windows. However, I don't have a pen. Can you please add a feature to use the mouse?
Hi, we will soon add the option to write in Nebo with a capacitive pen, but a touch screen device will still be required. Drawing with a mouse isn’t very accurate or comfortable but you will still be able to adjust your notes using the keyboard. Nebo treats your handwriting as typed text, so you can edit it with the keyboard or the stylus. [Since answering this question Nebo has been updated and it is now possible to use both an active and passive pen].
25Will you support searching for handwritten text in an imported image, which I write on?
Yes. You can already search text that you wrote over an image imported from your device’s photo album or camera.
26I take long notes by handwriting then go back later to covert.  Sometimes it doesn't get the conversion right and I can't remember what I wrote - ideally I'd like to go back and see the hand-writing again but I don't know if that is possible.
Hi, you can easily use the "back" button in the navigation bar at the top of the page to get your handwriting back. You can also use the prompter to check the recognition before the conversion!
27Hello - I am a musician, when will we get support for simple accents. A dot on top and dot under an alphabetHi, this is something that is not currently on the development timetable for Nebo.
28How do you mirror your writing on Nebo now? I'm a teacher and would like to use Nebo during lessons.
It is possible to use your iPad’s AirPlay feature to mirror your device’s screen with another compatible device. See here for details about compatibility: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204289
29Will the ability to scroll from page to page in a document be coming?
Hi, this is not currently on the development timetable for Nebo, but we will pass this over to the development team for consideration in future updates.
30Are there checkboxes?
Hi, this is not currently on the development timetable for Nebo but stay tuned for details on this one.
31What Windows hardware do you use to test your software?
Hi. The main device that we use to test Nebo is the Microsoft Surface x86 (core i5 and i7 with 6GBs of RAM and the Microsoft active stylus).

32Can I load the new Nebo being sure not to lose all my notebooks and folders?
When you update your version of Nebo to a newer version your notes will be preserved in the process. For your own peace of mind, you can use the backup features to back up and sync your notes before you choose to update. This means that you will have a fully backed up and synced library should you need them. See here for details: https://bit.ly/TotalBackup
33Are there templates also available in Windows?
Nebo doesn't support template import. But you can use the structured notes to create a kind of template for basic activities like minutes of meetings or to-do actions. You will find the information by following this link: https://bit.ly/NKB-Templates
34Will you add more paper options?  Colors and line spacing etc.
Hi. Adding more paper styles is something that we are certainly thinking about. The ability to adjust line spacing already exists in Nebo. You can read more about that here: https://bit.ly/2EF6qTy

38I really miss the integration with the Samsung S-Finder. I use a centralized system search to find and "relate" information in different applications, unfortunately, Nebo is out of reach for my system.
Hi, this is not currently on the development timetable for Nebo, but we will pass this over to the product management team for consideration in future updates.
39How do I write subscript and superscript in Nebo inside a paragraph? It is very important for my science notes.

40Can you show how to move pages to a different collection or notebook? I can't seem to just drag.
You can read this article in the Nebo knowledge base. It explains how you can move pages between different notebooks or collections.  http://bit.ly/MoveNotebooks
41I could not see on the video how to add the freeform?
Hi. You can see the video available in our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pK4DxyWsryA
42Will free-form replace the standard page?
Freeform pages will not replace standard pages. Today Nebo offers the option to work on regular pages (as you have been doing up until today) or to create Freeform pages, offering more freedom as you flesh out your ideas on the page.
43Where can I find the page templates you mentioned?
Nebo doesn't support the importing of templates. You can use the structured notes to create a kind of template for basic activities like taking down minutes of meetings or to-do actions. You will find information by following this link: https://bit.ly/NKB-Templates
44Are there scientific papers on ICR that one could read?
We do not have any articles at hand that we can share on this subject, but you will find plenty of interesting things online. See here for an example: https://bit.ly/2HDLMV8
45Now that we have freeform, are shapes on the track?
Hi. This is something that we are interested in making available to our users, but it won’t be available for a little while yet. I suggest that you keep abreast of updates by following us on Twitter or Facebook.
46Can we export with formats to Evernote as we do in MSWord?
It is not possible to export your text directly into Evernote (Evernote developers needs to authorize the importing of content from other apps). In the meantime, you can copy/paste Nebo content into Evernote instead. See here for details: https://bit.ly/NKB-CopyPaste
47Can you also export to Microsoft Notes or maybe soon?
It is not possible to export your text directly into Microsoft Notes (Microsoft developers need to authorize the importing of content from other apps). In the meantime, you can copy/paste Nebo content into Microsoft Notes instead. See here for details: https://bit.ly/NKB-CopyPaste

Hi, this is not something that is currently supported in Nebo, except in math objects. We will pass this over to the product management team for consideration in future developments.
49Notability has one feature that I miss.  In the app, can you can insert an audio recording at a specific point in your note-taking? This is super useful for taking minutes of a meeting.  Any plans to do this?
Hi there. This is not on our list of priorities but, like you, we can see the value of such a feature. We would very much like to see this introduced into Nebo in the future. We will pass this over to the product management team for consideration in future developments.
50Is the App available in The Gambia? I tried to download it but it is not available.
What platform do you use? Nebo is available in the App Store (iPad), the Windows Store but not the Google Play Store in the Gambia. The availability of the app in these stores is not something over which we have any control.
51Can you use tags in Nebo?
Tags are not supported in Nebo, but I will pass this on to the product management team for consideration in future developments.
52Can I copy Nebo files from my tablet to my PC (Windows) and then access them on my PC?
Yes, you can share the notes you create on your tablet with your PC in one of two ways, by using a standard sync via the cloud, or by using the Publish feature, which will allow you to access your notes via the web browser. If you sync with your PC you will need to have Nebo installed on the device, but you will only be able to use the keyboard to edit your notes. If you use the Publish feature, you do not need Nebo installed to read the notes, but you will need it to edit them.
53
Any plans to incorporate spell and grammar check?
Yes, this is in fact on the timetable, but you will not see this introduced any time in the near future.
54Can you export to PDF?

Hi Arshad, once you have updated Nebo for Windows and Android to the latest version available in the respective app stores you will be able to sync your notes across these different platforms as well.
58
Can I sort Collections by myself?
You cannot change the order of the collections, but you can move the notebooks between collections. See here for details: https://bit.ly/NKB-DMS-ReorderNB
59Can iOS search get Nebo content?
This kind of search will not include the content you have created in Nebo.
60How much does Nebo Pro for iPad cost?
This varies depending on your location. This is because there are different taxes applied in each country and region in which the app is available. We advise that you check the prices in the app store for your country.
61There are a lot of Windows tablets that are very pricey.  Do you know of any less expensive, less fancy hardware?  What would you get that wouldn't be a waste of money?  Also, which Windows laptop do you use to test your software?
Nebo requires a device with standard hardware, including as a minimum Core M or Core i3 CPU, a minimum of 4 gigabytes of RAM, and you will need an active pen with this configuration. The main device that we use to test Nebo is the Microsoft Surface x86 (core i5 and i7 with 6GBs of RAM and the Microsoft active stylus).
62I've tried the Publish. I did not quite understand how to make people see what I'm writing
You can watch the following video explaining the Publish feature and how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYG53lz-dYY. You can also find more information in our knowledge base, here: https://bit.ly/NKB-Publish
63Merging two boxes, like two textboxes in one would be nice.
We will pass this suggestion over to the product management team for consideration in future developments. If you are looking to merge two text paragraphs, you can do this by using a join gesture: https://bit.ly/NKB-Gestures
64When will auto-sync arrive?
Our teams are developing smart solutions to make syncing across OS and devices work automatically! This may take a little time as auto-sync poses a number of challenges that we will need to overcome.

Hi, there are no candidates available at present for math, but we will pass this on to the product management team for consideration in future developments.
Does it answer your question?
Yes No
