Apple Pencil & Nebo

Nebo 6.4 introduces Pressure Sensitivity, Hover, and Haptic Feedback to enhance your note-taking experience. Update to the latest version to unlock these features!

If you’re using an iPad with Apple Pencil, Nebo maximizes its potential with these supported features based on your Pencil model:

1. Pressure Sensitivity – Precise strokes and line variations.

2. Hover – Preview where your pen will land.

3. Double-Tap – Quickly switch tools.

4. Squeeze – Customized actions for added control.

5. Haptic Feedback – A more tactile, engaging experience.

You can find a detailed overview of the features Nebo supports for each Apple Pencil model:

Pressure sensitivity:

The pressure sensitivity settings can be found just below the pen thickness option in the pen tool pop-up. You can easily adjust it using a slider for a customized drawing or writing experience.

Compatibility: All models of the Apple Pencil support pressure sensitivity, except for the low-cost USB-C model, which does not include this feature.

Important note: If you’re using a screen protector, please be aware that some third-party screen protectors can interfere with the Apple Pencil’s pressure sensitivity.

Hover:

The tools supported include:

- Pen with various stroke options

- Eraser

- Highlighter

When one of these tools is selected and the pen approaches the screen, the hover feature activates. A preview of the pen tip appears on the canvas, reflecting the selected tool.

This preview is temporary and will not be added to the canvas. It disappears when the pen moves far enough from the screen.

The preview accurately represents the shape, color, and thickness of the selected tool. For the highlighter, the preview also displays the final opacity of its color.

Turn On/Off: Although Nebo does not have an in-app setting to disable the Hover feature, you can easily manage this functionality via your device’s iOS settings. By default, the Apple Pencil Hover feature is turned on. You can turn the feature off by going to Settings > Apple Pencil and turning off Show Effects when using Pencil.

Compatibility: Full Hover functionally is only available to 2022 models of iPad Pro.

Haptic feedback:

The pen provides haptic feedback in the following scenarios:

- When rotating a shape or line, and it aligns with one of its sides.

- When a line or arrow snaps to a shape. However, no haptic feedback occurs if the line or arrow is moved and snaps to notable points afterward.

- When line connectors are rotated every 90 degrees.

- When a shape is beautified.

Notes:

1. No haptic feedback is provided when unsnapping a line or arrow.

2. While Nebo doesn’t offer an in-app setting to disable the Haptic feature, you can easily manage this functionality through the iOS settings on your device.
