Creating shapes on a Notebook and a Board

You can create shapes effortlessly on a notebook or board by simply handwriting the desired shape. You have the option to retain the shape as is (Without conversion) or convert it into a beautify shape. To do this, ensure the pen's tip remains on the screen until the shape is complete. This process automatically transforms your handwritten shape into a perfect, refined design, offering flexibility and precision. 

Copy shapes, lines, and arrows

Shapes, arrows, and lines can be exported individually, or in groups.

  1. Tap the lasso icon in the top navigation bar.
  2. Select the objects that you would like to copy with the lasso.
  3. A pop-up menu will appear.
  4. When the desired adjustment had been made tap elsewhere on the screen. 
  5. Tapping the shape also offers users the option to Cut, Copy, or Delete:
    • Cut will allow you to move the line/arrow.
    • Copy will allow repetition of the line/arrow on the page or elsewhere in Nebo.
    • Delete will delete the line/arrow.
    • Resize can also be applied to the whole collection of lassoed items.

Shapes and connectors

Shapes can be created anywhere on a notebook or board using your pen.

  • Shapes can be left as doodles.
  • Shapes can be beautified.
  • Connectors can be added and left as doodles.
  • Connectors can be added and beautified.


Beautify shapes and connectors

To beautify your shapes and connectors

  1. Draw your shape, ensuring you hold the pen against the page until it beautifies.
  2. Connectors can be added and beautified using the same method.
Note: Shapes and connectors cannot be beautified after lifting the pen from the screen, or by using text conversion with the lasso.

Adjust shape size and dimensions 

  1. Converted shapes can be adjusted.
  2. Tap the desired shape with your finger.
  3. A blue adjustment frame will appear.
  4. Adjust the corners to increase or decrease the size.
  5. Adjust with the blue dots to change the dimensions
  6. Tap anywhere on the screen to remove the blue adjustment frame.

Rotate beautified shapes 


  1. Draw your shape, ensuring you hold the pen against the page until it beautifies.
  2. Tap on the shape.
  3. Use the rotation arrow to adjust the shape to your preferred angle.
  4. Always add text to the shape only after you've finalized its rotation
  5. Beautified shapes can be rotated in notebooks, boards, PDFs, and diagram objects.

Adjust shapes with alignment guides 

  1. Converted shapes can be adjusted with alignment guides.
  2. Ensure the alignment guides feature is toggled on. Go to  in the top right corner of the screen Alignment guides.
  3. Tap the desired shape with your finger.
  4. A blue adjustment frame with appear.
  5. Adjust the size, dimension, or position of the shape on the page and the alignment guides will appear.
  6. Tap anywhere on the screen to remove the blue adjustment frame.

Creating lines and arrows

  1. Draw your line, ensuring you hold the pen against the page until it beautifies.
  2. The line or arrow will beautify.
  3. Lines and arrows cannot be beautified using the text conversion process.

Adjust lines and arrows

  1. With your finger, tap the line or arrow you would like to adjust.
  2. The line will turn blue with adjustment points at each end.
  3. Use your finger or pen to make the desired adjustment.
  4. When the desired adjustment had been made tap elsewhere on the screen. 
  5. Tapping the shape also offers users the option to Cut, Copy, or Delete:
    • Cut will allow you to move the line/arrow.
    • Copy will allow repetition of the line/arrow on the page or elsewhere in Nebo.
    • Delete will delete the line/arrow.



To adjust connectors, lines, and arrows in Nebo:

  1. Tap a line or arrow to select it; it highlights in blue. A second tap selects that line alone, dismissing the edit menu.
  2. Drag adjustment points at ends to reposition. Lines and shapes automatically align to 0/45/90° angles for precision.
  3. Move a line’s handle near another until it snaps (circle turns dark blue) to connect. All connected lines’ handles become visible for adjustment.
  4. Drag a handle away to disconnect; it snaps free when the circle turns dark blue again.
  5. Tap outside the selected object to confirm adjustments.

This streamlined process allows for efficient manipulation of shapes and connectors, ensuring precise alignment and connectivity within your notes.
