Setup and Sync your iPad and iPhone with iCloud

Follow these step-by-step instructions to set up synchronization between your iPad and iPhone using iCloud.

A. Setup the sync on your iPad

You are using your iPad to take notes, and you would like to sync with your iPhone to take your notes on the go.

1. Ensure your iPad is signed in with the Apple ID used to purchase Nebo and that iCloud is enabled.

For demonstration, we'll use a test account email to show each step. The iPad's Apple ID and iCloud (5GB) are active as shown.

2. Open Nebo and ensure you have the latest version. If not, update it to the newest release

3. Navigate to Settings, then select Account.

4. Make sure your SSO account profile is set up. If not, create a free MyScript SSO account.

For simplicity, we'll use the same email address as the Apple ID.

Next, return to Settings and choose Sync.

You can choose from iCloud, Dropbox, or Google Drive.

The image shows we're connected to iCloud and using manual sync (not automatic). We'll start with manual sync due to the number of files, then switch to automatic sync later.

SYNC:

Return to the Nebo main screen. Tap on "Sync".

Note: Please ensure you're connected to the internet and not using a VPN or firewall, as these can sometimes prevent cloud connection and hinder syncing.

You can monitor the sync process in Nebo. It will start with "Syncing 7 folders," then 4, and finally 1, decreasing from the largest to the smallest.

Please be aware that this process may take 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the number of files being synced.

At the end, you'll see the message "Up to date," confirming that all files have been successfully uploaded to the cloud service.

You can now switch to "Automatic sync" in the settings.

B. Setup the sync on your iPhone.

Ensure you log in with the same Apple ID that is used on your iPad.

Download the Nebo app on your iPhone using the same Apple ID as your iPad.

Once opened, you'll see a folder named "My notebook."

Open the Nebo Settings app on your iPhone.
Choose account
Sign-in (Log in) using the same SSO account profile you used on your iPad.
Return to Settings and tap Sync.
Select iCloud
Connect to your iCloud account (the same one used on your iPad) and select Automatic Sync.

SYNC:

Nebo is now syncing with your iCloud account.

Everything has been synced. However, remember that you created a specific collection and note when you first opened Nebo on your iPhone. You can delete this collection and its content to prevent it from syncing to your iPad.

Note: Be careful to delete only that specific folder, as deleting everything could remove all your notes from the cloud. You'll notice that syncing to iCloud has begun.

To delete a folder or collection, swipe left, and the 'Edit' and 'Delete' options will appear.
Voilà! All your notes are now perfectly synced between your iPad and iPhone.

Important:

  • To avoid sync conflicts, do not open or edit a note simultaneously on your iPad, iPhone, or any other device.

  • If you need to modify a note, make sure to do so on just one device. Once finished, you can open it on your other device.

  • Nebo supports note syncing but doesn’t allow collaboration, meaning you can't open and edit notes on multiple devices at the same time.
