Custom words

Nebo isn't that familiar with custom words, but you will need to decide if the word you want to use is a one-off custom word or a word you intend to use regularly. If you're a Nebo user and intend to use the word multiple times, it might be worth entering it into the user dictionary.* Therefore, to obtain their conversion, you'll need to make an extra effort writing them. Just find the category your custom word falls into and apply our recommendations below:

Proper nouns and invented words (e.g., Pivawu, craaaazy)

  1. Write your characters as neatly as possible and don't mix cursive and print scripts.
  2. If the word suggested by Nebo isn't correct, tap it to open a list of suggestions. Your custom word should be there.
  3. If your custom word isn't on the list, rewrite it by adding a space after each character. As you go, freeze each character's typeset format by tapping it in the conversion preview or on the list of suggestions.
  4. When each character is correct in the conversion preview, remove all spaces with a join gesture.

File names, pseudonyms, and product names (e.g., File-1200, User75i, iPad2018)

  1. Write your characters as neatly as possible, and don't mix cursive and print scripts.
  2. If the word suggested by Nebo isn't correct, rewrite it by creating distinct, consistent blocks after which you add space. If needed, browse the suggestions to find each block's correct typeset format.
  3. When each block is correct in the conversion preview, remove all spaces with a join gesture.

Complex passwords (e.g., Az3#4PI!)

  1. Be prepared to write your characters as neatly as possible, not mix cursive and print scripts, and add a space after each character.
  2. As you go, freeze each character's typeset format by tapping it in the conversion preview or on the list of suggestions. Mind the case: upper or lower.
  3. When each character is correct in the conversion preview, remove all spaces with a join gesture.

Your custom word is ready for conversion when it appears correctly in the preview.

Whenever you're ready, convert your custom word by double-tapping it, or wait until you have finished writing your block.
