Q) What is the keyboard beta?
We heard your requests, the wait is over: You can now easily switch between your Apple Pencil and your keyboard, and take your notes even faster.
This means you can also modify and add text in Nebo without an Apple Pencil.
Keep in mind this a beta version. We will regularly update it with extended functionality to prepare for the final release.
Q) How do I activate the keyboard beta?
Sign in with your MyScript account in Nebo, then go to "Settings > Insider program" to activate the keyboard. Now just tap on an empty line or twice inside a text block to position the cursor and start typing.
Q) Can I try the keyboard beta on all platforms?
The keyboard feature is available on iOS devices only: You need an iPad with iOS 11 or later.
Q) What are the requirements to enable the keyboard beta?
Q) Can I add typed text in a Math, Diagram or Sketch object?
Keyboard is enabled in text blocks or empty lines only.
Q) Can I mix handwritten and typed text?
With two taps in a text block you can place a cursor and start typing. Handwritten and typed text are treated the same way and naturally exist together. All interactive ink gestures can be applied to your typed text. You can also continue to highlight, title, subtitle or color any of your text.
Q) Does the keyboard beta support shortcut keys?
We already support many regular shortcut keys, and will support even more soon.
For example, you can now select text and copy/paste it in Nebo or another text application using Command (or Cmd): ⌘ + C and ⌘ + V.
Please note that cut (⌘ + X) is not available yet.
Q) Can I deactivate the keyboard?
Yes, simply go to "Settings > Insider program" to disable the keyboard beta.
If you only wish to remove the cursor, simply tap in the margin of your page.
