System Requirements
To use Dual View Mode in Nebo, ensure your system meets the following requirements:
- Nebo version: Nebo 6.7 or later
- Operating system: iPadOS (iOS 16 or later)
Important Notes
- Dual View Mode is currently available on the iOS platform. This feature is not supported on Android or Windows at this time.
- The search feature is deactivated during Dual View Mode.
- Copying and pasting between documents is only possible if both documents are set to the same language.
- It is not possible to open the same note in Dual View Mode.
- To ensure smooth performance, avoid opening two large files in Dual View Mode if your device has limited RAM, as this may cause lags.
What is Dual View Mode?
Apple introduced the ability to open multiple windows of the same app with iPadOS. This functionality allows users to open multiple instances of the same app in either Slide Over or Split View, enabling them to pair apps with each other or with a second instance of the same app.
Nebo takes full advantage of this feature with its Dual View Mode, making it easier to manage and interact with your notes side by side.
How to Open a New Window in Nebo
There are several ways to open Nebo in a new window. Below is a guide to help you get started:
1. Drag the Nebo Icon from the Dock
If you already have Nebo or another app open:
- Step 1: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the dock.
- Step 2: Tap and hold the Nebo app icon until it lifts off the screen.
- Step 3: Drag the icon to the side of the screen to open it in a new window.
2. Drag a Document from the Library
Open any document directly from the library into a new window:
- Step 1: Tap and hold the document’s thumbnail in your library until it lifts off the screen.
- Step 2: Drag it to the side of the screen to open it in a new window.
3. Use the Action Menu in the Library
From the library view, you can also open a document in a new window:
- Step 1: Tap the page thumbnail.
- Step 2: Select the Open in new window option from the action menu.
4. Use the Three-Dots Menu at the Top of the Screen
While viewing a document:
- Step 1: Tap the three-dots menu located at the top centre of the screen.
- Step 2: A dropdown menu will appear with options such as Full Screen, Split View, and Slide Over.
- Step 3: Select Nebo to open a second instance in a new window.
These methods allow you to have multiple documents side by side, making it easier to work with them simultaneously.
Copy & Paste Between Windows
Nebo's ability to open multiple documents simultaneously makes it easier than ever to exchange content between two windows using the Copy & Paste feature. This functionality streamlines your workflow and boosts productivity by simplifying the transfer of text and images between notes.
How to Use Copy & Paste
1. Copy & Paste Text
- Select the desired text from one note.
- Copy the text with a simple tap or keyboard command.
- Switch to the second note and paste the text into the document.
This enables a smooth and seamless transfer of written content, helping you organize and consolidate notes efficiently.
2. Copy & Paste Images
- Select the image you want to move.
- Copy the image using the provided tools or commands.
- Open the target window and paste the image into your desired location.
